What Does Density Mean On Chest Xray

Film Review" FOOTPRINT "- Great expectations for a small planet

Karin Malogowska

In only 36 minutes takes us to the Swiss Mathis Wackernagel in the "footprint" with an amazing journey to the true limits of our planet. Mankind is the first time in history, more natural resources and takes up more of the regenerative capacity of ecosystems, as available. We live on to a lord, live from the capital nature and not the interest. With
about one-third share of the food is the biggest chunk of the average footprint of an Austrian. Particularly the high consumption of meat.
¾ the world's population remain ¼ of the world (suffering from climate change)
quarter of the world population consumes three quarters of the world (caused climate change)
"own" 18 percent, 85 percent of the world
Today each / r earth citizen to stand at just split about 2 Gha (global acres) available. I, the average Austrian citizen needs 5 Gha to satisfy their material needs. If all people want to live as we would in Europe, we soon 3 planets! We live on to great Foot!
the "five F"
aircraft: you should be able to dispense onto an aircraft more often, the holidays do not always choose the resorts, which lie at the other end of the world.
driving: Do not always have to get the car. On foot or by bicycle to get to its destination and, if not faster.
meat: Reduce animal products, seasonal products, and those just prefer organic produce.
living as in the barrel: well isolated in small apartments, the best in residential communities. It should be heated and with a public driving means to be reachable with renewable energy.
is most important is the joy of a good life. The motto is: Easy Life on easy walking distance!

Since the end of the 2nd World War II, the population has doubled the number of people on Earth. Apparently we have not enough space on the ground, it is too small. Our resources would be three times as large for the earth! The ecological footprint is there to measure how much we consume. In fact it is so that we will take longer and as available. In fact, we consume more than 25% too much. Our footprint should be a maximum of 1 ha per capita. But what really look like? Here are some examples of Austria, Germany and Switzerland and the USA: With an ecological footprint of 5, lha per person, Switzerland is in 16th place followed by Austria at 19th place (4.9 acres) and Germany at number 23 (4.5 hectares), number 2 (9.5 ha!) Are the United States.
It is up to ourselves, what we decide footprint.

... We should ... begin to consider that we are not alone in the world.
... sustainable thinking and take preventative action.
... our footprint calculate which options are superior to it, to reduce this.

This DVD was sponsored by the platform footprint. Mathis Wackernagel led by the film. In the time since
the 2nd World War II had doubled the population. It requires 10% more energy than before and there are only 3% of the wild animals. With the growth in world population, more and more resources are needed. But many countries, it does not matter how many resources they still possess. Just use as many as they need. The ecological footprint is like a bank statement. You can watch it, but not necessarily. Thus it may happen that you spend more money than you have really.
consume alone through the production of meat, we very much usable area. A cow needs space, can feed on them. In the winter needs they also have other food, while it produces waste. Also must be stored. A good idea would be to use renewable resources and also to convert the waste.
We only have one planet. To 51 billion hectares. A hectare is a football field. Of these, 29 percent country and 71 percent water. Only 23 percent share of the country are productive, ie they can grow biomass. Dividing this 23 percent of the world population would be on the 1.8 hectares of biologically productive area that represents a person. But we are not the only creatures. Through our life we bring all other living beings in danger. 50 percent of the bio-capacity should be for other living things they require. Finally, biodiversity is the greatest gift. Thus a hectare per head would be perfect. But how can we make a better life with one hectare per head? How much do we consume
? All we need for the manufacture of surface. Some areas are also used multiple times. But we take as we have in the world does not consume consideration and more. We exceed the available resources are often up to 25 percent. 2009 was the day when we started, ecological living on credit, already the 25th September. 2006 was the 9th October. The ecological limits to cross easily.
How is the average footprint calculated for a country? It is calculated how many resources we use in our country and how many we import or export. The difference is the ecological footprint.
Did you climb a high income usually the footprint (on average by 15 percent). Worldwide, 1.8 hectares available per capita. Here the average ecological footprints of some countries: in Austria, 4.9 ha, 4.5 ha in Germany, 5.1 ha in Switzerland, 4.2 ha in Italy, 9.6 ha in the USA.
If all people the lifestyle of the Europeans, we would need three earths.
Today, people from the majority of car-dependent. It used to be cycled or walked. That lasted maybe a little longer, but does not harm the environment and it was independent.
What options do we have the resources that we have better and more sustainably, and thereby protect our environment? Many cities are already great deal to reduce their ecological footprint. In Australia, for example, air conditioners and heaters can be reduced in shopping centers. This saves resources and it costs less money.
One thing is certain: If we not careful with our environment, they will soon be completely destroyed.
