Aliens - The Return
just seen again, this jewel of action films. And even if one or the other seems a bit dusty at this 25-year-old factory here, producers and directors like to learn something. I hardly films are known to be structured in so logical, clean, and have succeeded dramatically.
And it is a second part. Director and script writer James Cameron, was still largely unknown - the "Terminator" at the time of his treatments for "Aliens" not yet in operation - had wisely decided not simply a similarly knitted to make successor.
Instead, he mixed his ideas to a military operation in the future with the idea of what would happen if there were more than one of the creatures. a high-tech-equipped troops in a hostile environment - are intentional parallels to the Vietnam War, as Cameron is with "very much fire power and very little wisdom" means.
problem ran the shooting, which were exchanged at the beginning Corporal Hicks Actor James Remar against Michael Biehn and also the Director of Photography Richard Bush. Moreover, there was great tension between the British film crew, unionized and clear working hours, and James to Cameron, who was believed to also not able to Ridley Scott's successor. Gale Anne Hurd had a female producer, also in a difficult position
stressful also designed to work with composer James Horner, who had one and a half weeks time for composing and uploading of film music. With the results of Horner was "80 percent satisfied," yet there was an Oscar nomination. The two men had so much trouble that they got together only ten years later - here for the cinematic masterpiece "Titanic".
And yet we see excellent, what with 18 million dollar budget on all the legs can provide, without any CGI, and with classic tricks such as blue screen, models, objects suspended on wires and a power loader, which is driven in fact by a bodybuilder. And, incidentally, also worked luminaries in their fields such as Stan Winston (animatronics) and Syd Mead (Art Director, about the "Blade Runner") to this film.
My favorite scene is the first "Plot Point", where the Marines to penetrate the cocooned colonists and then there are decimated by the aliens. Rarely has such a good representation of chaos, confusion and struggle seen.
eighth when watching it: today's "regular" version is the director's cut, nearly 17 Minutes longer than the theatrical version.
